Under the vast Carolina sky, where the whispers of the wind carry stories of days past, Travis James "TJ" Fennell, age 38, departed this earthly realm on the first of March, 2024, in the quietude of Salisbury, NC. Born in the heart of Brooklyn on a summer's day, June 24, 1985, TJ's journey began—a tapestry of moments woven with the vibrant threads of life's passions and pursuits.
In the embrace of his beloved kin, he found his anchor and compass. TJ, a tender-hearted love to Tranise Brown. The son of David and Hattie Fennell, he was a reflection of their nurturing light, a beacon that now glimmers in the night sky. His sisters, Latesha with Quintous Smith, Shashonda with Jay Phillips, and his brothers, David Troy with Shannon Wright, and Daniel with Jackie Fennell, shared in the laughter and tears that painted the canvas of their collective memories.
Yet, the wheel of life spun leaves with sorrowful partings; TJ voyage to the stars by the tender souls of his children—Sanyla Fennell, Travis (Man) Fennell, Jr., Jairail Sales, Legend Fennell, in loving care of Ryaniah, Jahnara (Red), and Janeriah (Choc). In the hush of dawn, he leaves his nephews; SayQuan Jones, Quintous Smith, Jr, Javon Smith, Daniel Elias Fennell, and nieces Serenity Fennell and Alexa Phillips. Also sharing in the laughter and tears loving Uncles and Aunts, special cousins, godsons Zymere Hudson, Nicholas Levi Ellis, Prince and Koby Robb, and other relatives plus friends who will continue to honor his memory in the silent symphony of the cosmos.
From the hallowed halls of Davie High School to the scholarly embrace of North Carolina Central University, TJ's quest for knowledge was steadfast. His vocation as a Production Manager at Custom Golf Car Supply was not merely a job but a chapter in his book of life, filled with purpose and pride.
TJ's spirit found solace and fellowship within the walls of Outreach Christian Ministries, where his faith was a gentle stream flowing through the meadow of his days. His hobbies—a mosaic of joy—saw him as the overseer of Food Truck Tuesday in city of Salisbury NC and Food Truck Thursdays in Lexington NC, a celebration of community and cuisine, and as an ardent sports fan, where the thrill of the game mirrored the pulse of life.
The final curtain falls at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist, Salisbury, NC, Saturday at 2:00 pm.where loved ones will gather to bid farewell to a man whose essence was a quilt of many colors—warm, comforting, and forever cherished. Family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to service.
Let us not say goodbye but rather, until we meet again, in the quiet corners of our hearts, where TJ's legacy endures—a song of love, resilience, and the beauty of a life fully lived
