Catherine Swann Krider 90, of Granite Quarry was born to the late John Swann and Lydia Lyttle on November 10,1935 in Rowan County she transitioned from her Earthly Life to her Heavenly Home on Thursday December 18,2025 at her home surrounded by family.
Mrs. Krider graduated from R. A. Clement High School in 1954. She was a co-owner and Office Manager at H. K. Krider & Son Scrap Metal Company, Inc. After her retirement, she worked for Holmes Iron & Metal, Inc. She was a substitute teacher for the Rowan-Salisbury School system. A dedicated member of New Zion Baptist Church, where she served as President of the gospel choir, Sunday school teacher, member of the senior choir, financial church secretary, President of Nurses' Aide committee,and served on the Missionary Board. She served as treasurer of Church Women United and President of the Geneva I. Oglesby Community Club for over 30 years. Also served on the ACT and Planning Board of Granite Quarry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; John Swann, Lydia Swann, spouse; Napoleon Krider, brothers; John Swann, Calvin Swann, Joseph Swann, sisters; Mamie Lyttle, Ruth Carr and Mary Barrow.
She truly lived a full and blessed life , her work on Earth will speak for her in Heaven's Kingdom. May her love for family and friends continue to live through her legacy.
She leaves precious memories to her daughters; Cynthia Krider, Doris Krider, son; Charles Krider, grandson; Kevin Krider (Camille) who was raised in the home, brother; Walter Swann(Alice), grandchildren; Robert Oliver Jr., Katrina Oliver, Jermaine Barber, Charles Krider, Jr.,Renee Krider, thirteen great-grandchildren, special niece; Julia Ann Krider, a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: Saturday December 27, at 2:00 p.m. New Zion Baptist Church,Salisbury burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 prior to service. Public viewing Friday 11:00-5:00 p.m. a Rowan Funeral Service Chapel.
