Charles Edward Evans Sr., 77, of Salisbury, went home to glory on Aug. 13, 2022 was born to the late Maudstine Faulk in Rowan County on June 11, 1945. He attended Dunbar High School and retired from East Spencer Police and Fire Department and Bendix Westinghouse. Mr. Evans was an active member at Shady Grove Baptist Church East Spencer were he served on the Trustee Committee, Pastor's Aide, Usher Board, and Commentary Committee. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his parents; spouse, Patricia S. Evans; children, Cherie Bryant and Charles E. Evans Jr.; four brothers and two sisters. Mr. Evans is survived by his sisters, Sharon Leach, Salisbury, Kathy Charleston, Detroit Mich; foster son, Earnest and Stephine Huntley, Kannapolis; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, a host of other relatives and friends. Arrangements: Funeral Service Saturday, Aug. 20, at 12:30 p.m Shady Grove Baptist Church, burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to service. Public visitation will be Friday at the funeral home. Mask are required for the funeral service. Rowan Funeral Services is assisting the Evans family.
