Mrs. Cheryl R. Underwood, 57, passed away Friday, July 18, 2022 resting in the comfort of her home. She was born Feb. 26, 1965 in Rowan County to the late Walter Lewis Howell, Jr and the late Margaret Kelly Underwood. She was educated in the public schools of Rowan County where she was a 1983 graduate of North Rowan High School. She was last employed with the Veterans Affairs Administration in Kernersville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin Brown, Douglas Howell, Richard Howell; and one niece, Timika Howell. Left to cherish her memories includes her husband, Darryl Hunter; daughter, Mariah Hunter; brothers, Michael (Jennifer) Underwood of Greensboro, Charles (Debra) Underwood of East Spencer, Reginald (Jackie) Woods of Concord, Mikey (Tiffany) Howell of Salisbury, Walter Howell, III (Maria) of Carrollton, Va.; and one sister, Adra Howell of Spencer; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Arrangements: Services will be Monday, July 18, at 11:30 a.m. visitation, at Mt. Zion Missionary Church, Salisbury, NC 28147.
