Christopher Darryl Childers, 69, of Salisbury was born to Jessie Sloan Childers and the late John Childers on June 6, 1955, in Rowan County. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC, where he served as an usher, sang in the Men's Choir, and volunteered at the church help desk. He retired from Pittsburg Glass in 1998.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rena Childers, and son, Ricky Childers. He leaves cherished memories to his son, Darryl Childers (Trenita) of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Cherese Childers-Mckee (Damon), Charlotte, NC; brother, Lonnie Childers; sister, Gloria Thompson (Ben); six grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services will be Monday July 15 at 12:00 p.m. at First Calvary Baptist Church in Salisbury, NC.
