Doris Ellis McCoy 82, of Salisbury was born to the late George and Omma Lee Danzey Ellis in Chesterfield, SC on December 22, 1938 and passed away on January 10, 2021 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Mrs. McCoy was last employed by Vogue Cleaners and had attended Gethsemane Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; Charles Ellis, Robert Ellis, Jessie Ellis, Lee Thomas Ellis and grandson; Henry Thomas McCoy,III. She leaves precious memories to her son; Henry T. (Geneva) McCoy, Jr., daughters; Cynthia M. (Ben) Cline, Linda M. (George) Black, all of Salisbury, brother; Post Ellis, New London, NC, sister; Betty (Grover) Jones, Salisbury, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be Monday, January 18, at 12:00 noon at Gethsemane. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Public viewing will be Sunday at the funeral home 12:00 - 5:00. Rowan Funeral Services is serving the McCoy family.
