Dorothy Louise "Do" Cherry Chapman 82, of Salisbury, was born to the late Leroy Ellis and Laura Cherry on March 31, 1941 in Rowan County transition on Sunday May 14, 2023.

1959 graduate of  R.A. Clement High School , last employed as a Seamstress at Haleyville Drapery, a member of Mt. Zion C.M.E. where she served on the Stewardess, Pastor Aide and the Missionary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; Raymond Chapman,  daughter; Sharon McNeely, brothers; Donald Ellis, James Cherry, deceased Houpe grandsons; son-in-law; Terry Hunter, sisters; Margaret Leach, Phyllis Ellis, and Cherry Cowan.

She leaves to cherish her memories; daughters; Carla Hunter, Jamie Houpe(Tracy), stepdaughter; Harriet Ellis(Tim)Sharvon Chapman, stepson: Raymond Chapman, Jr, sister; Lois Phifer, brother-in-law ; James Cowan, sister-in-law Tarrilee Allen, grandchildren: Tiara Watson(Qua), Laquaana Hunter, Trajone O'Neil, Di'Hyon, Do'Nasia, Da'Nyhia, three great grandchildren; nephews;nieces a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services Tuesday May 23, at 1:00 pm Rowan Funeral Services Chapel, burial will follow in City Memorial Cemetery, family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be Monday 3:00- 6:00p.m.
