Edward Junior Gibson, 88, of Salisbury was born to the late Richard Odell and Prudie Wood Gibson on May 13, 1932 in Rowan County and made a final flight on Thursday April 29, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House after a brief illness. He was last employed as a forklift driver for Southern States and was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife Mildred Black Gibson, children; Wilbert, Stanley, Nathaniel, William, Perry, Mary, Hope, Faith, Deboyce Harris, siblings; Willie, Cletis, Betty, Fred, John, Clarence, Richard, Charles Gibson and Ila Jones. He is survived by sons; Edward D.(Debra) Dibson, Robert Gibson, Kenneth L. (Vergie) Gibson, Robert Gibson, Larry Gibson, daughters: Charity G. Cruse, Laverne Gibson, brother; Rev. Walter Gibson, sister; Julia M. (Berlin) Torrence, twenty grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 30 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends. Rowan Funeral Services is assisting the Gibson family.
