Eugene Whitner 78, of Salisbury, went to eternal rest on Wednesday, November 30, at Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center and was born to the late Avery Mutz and Ada Pharr in Roanoke, VA. Mr. Whitner attended school in Roanoke, last employed by the City of Salisbury, and was a self-employed Handyman. He was preceded in death by his parents; leaving memories to his wife of the home Girlnail Knox Whitner, sons; Edward Whitner(Kim), Chris Whitner(Billie Kennedy), daughters; Sandra Knox, Ada Wallace(Anthony), Betty Pruett, brother; Alfred Banks, a very special friend; Martha Lagrande, thirteen grandchildren, thirty five great-grandchildren a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Arrangements: Wednesday December 7, at 12:00 p.m., burial will follow in City Memorial Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral service at all other times at the home. Public visitation will be Tuesday 10:00 - 5:00 p.m. Rowan Funeral Services is assisting the Whitner family.
