James Elmo (Foots) Hogan Jr. 74, was born on April 26,1948 in Lincolnton, Ga., to the late James and Ruth Hogan, made a transition on Tuesday Aug. 2, 2022 at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. He attended school at Dunbar Elementary and Dunbar High School, he was last employed as a truck driver, doing yards and landscaping. He attended New Zion Baptist Church most of his adult life. James was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Perry and John Hogan. James is survived by his beautiful daughters, Amelia "Trell" Bell and Victoria "Vickie" (Tito) Sulyans of Virginia. He was a proud grandpa to two grandchildren, Elijah and Joshua Sulyans. He is survived by his siblings, Lillie Calhoun, Betty Richardson, Stanley (Debra) Hogan, of Lexington, Loretta (Alvin) Hargrave, Debbie Ann (Eric) King of Salisbury; and sister-in-law, Cathy Hogan. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends. Arrangements: Funeral services will be Friday, Aug. 12, at 1 p.m. Files Chapel Baptist Church burial will follow in the Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service and all other times at the home of his sister Lillie Calhoun. Public viewing, Thursday, 3-5 p.m. Rowan Funeral Services is assisting the Hogan family. Finally, the family asks that in honor of James (Foots), please consider being a blood or kidney donor.
