Our beloved Jamon Tavio King answered God's call on Monday, March 9, 2026, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas after a three-year battle with T-Cell Acute
Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Jamon was born on July 22, 2009, to Tavio King and Felicia Rivens Archie in Danville, VA.

He attended M.D. Anderson School and East Rowan High School.Jamon planned to go to college to become a Pediatric Oncology Nurse. He enjoyed playing video games, listening to music, card games, cooking, art, designing clothes, fashion and playing golf. He continued to volunteer, when he was able, with Western Star Masonic Lodge #9, feeding the less fortunate and volunteered with the Pride of Salisbury Elk Lodge #1774. Prior to his diagnoses he was a varsity basketball and football player at Erwin Middle School and continued to be a Crosby Scholar. Jamon
was a member of Promise City Church, Salisbury, NC. Even though he had weekly chemo, many pints of blood and platelets, he remained positive with an awesome spirit.
He was loved by everyone who had been in his presence as he was kind, affectionate, funny and polite. Jamon was a diehard Steelers fan. Jamon was preceded in death by his grandmothers Carrie Younger King and Charlene Virginia Rivens.
His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his parents Tavio King (Karen), Danville, VA and Felicia Rivens Archie (Harvey), Salisbury, NC; sisters Shakiyla Rivens, Dallas, TX, Sabriya Archie, Salisbury, NC and Erin Carter (Tyrell), High Point, NC; brothers Jarrett Rivens, Dallas, TX, Marius Neely, Mooresville, NC and Darrin Saunders (Susan), South Boston, VA; best friends Jamantay Cox (Granite Quarry, NC), Zamir Clinding (Charlotte, NC), Keaton Ware (Granite Quarry, NC), Kaleo Tolentino (Rockwell, NC), and his favorite cousin Paislei Harris (Danville, VA). Jamon was a loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

Funeral Services: Sasturday March 21, at  1:00 p.m. Salisbury High School burial will follow immediately at Memorial Park. Family will receive friends 12:00 - 1:00 p.m prior to service. public viewing Friday 11:00-5:00 p.m.
