Jesse James Gibbs, Sr. 72, was  born to the late  Thomas Gibbs, Sr. and Alice Oliver GIbbs in Catawba County, SC on February 25, 1951 transition on Wednesday April 26, 2023 at Novant Health Regional Medical Center.

He was last employed with Rusher Tires as a mechanic and was a member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church , where he served on the Choir and Usher Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son; Thomas Gibbs, Jr., brother; Benny Gibbs, sisters; Sarah Jackson, Barbara Torrence, Lillie Imes and  Anna Graham.

He leaves cherished memories to his son, Jesse James Gibbs, Jr, daughters; Jessica Womble( Tracy)  , Anita Whitner,brother; Johnny Gibbs, sisters; Mary Rhodes, Annie Vann, companion; Sandra Knox, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nephews, nieces and host other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services Wednesday May 3, at 12:00p.m. Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in City Memorial Park Cemetery. Public viewing will be Tuesday 11:00- 5:00p.m.
