John Robert King 87, of East Spencer departed his life on May 26,2024 at his home after extended illness, was born  September  16, 1936 to the late Joseph B. and Elva Tate King in Cana, VA.

He was last employed John King's Amaco Service Station, a Veteran US Army   where he was Automotive Specialist 4th Class and of Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; Bill King, Jim King , Jack R. King and sister; Betty L. Edwards.

He is survived by his wife Shirley Hawks King of 65 years, Shawn C. King, Robert " Merle" King , and Michael King, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, special friend Douglas Holmes, nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside Service will be June 18, at 2:00 p.m. Salisbury National Cemetery and burial will follow.
