Larry Wayne Sturdivant, Sr., 82, was born to the late Rupert Carr Sturdivant and Essie Mae Mitchell Sturdivant in Salisbury on June 9, 1940, made his final flight on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 . Mr. Sturdivant was a graduate of Dunbar High School, enlisted in the US Army, employed for over 30 years with Celeanse, and drove the van for Rowan Transit for many years. He was a lifelong member of Dorsett Chapel Church of Christ where he served as a Trustee. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Rupert Sturdivant, Jr., Herbert Sturdivant, Neeza Lambert, Helen Norris, Lincy Mae Sturdivant, Willie Mae Sturdivant, and Bishop Joseph and Celestine Mitchell Roberts. Cherished memories to his wife, Gloria Reid Sturdivant; son, Larry W. Sturdivant Jr.; daughter, LaTonya Fletcher (Jeffrey); grandchildren, Alexis Dalton, Chanel Sturdivant, and Natasha Sturdivant; brother, Clayton Sturdivant (Magaline); nephews, nieces, a host of other relatives and friends. Arrangements: Funeral services Thursday, June 30, at 1 p.m. at Dorsett Chapel Church of Christ, Spencer, burial will be Friday, July 1, at 10:00 a.m. Salisbury National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 12:30 - 1 p.m. prior to service. Public viewing Wednesday, 11 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. at Rowan Funeral Services.
