Lawrence Edward Jones 62, of Salisbury was born to Sylvia Jones and the late Charles E. Carr in Rowan County on May 17, 1959 made his final flight on Sunday Dec. 26, 2021 at Duke University Medical Center, Durham. A 1977 graduate of Salisbury High School, last employed at Cone Mills and was of Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Jones. He is survived by his mother, Sylvia Jones; sons, Lawrence Jones, Jr., Tyler Payne(Tina Nguyen); daughters, Shireda Fleming, Alicia Jones, Teneill Myers( Javon); sisters, Delores Bookhart, Teresa Reid; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Arrangements: Funeral Services Monday Jan. 3, at 1 p.m. at Rowan Funeral Services Chapel and burial will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to service. Public viewing Sunday 1 - 5 p.m. Rowan Funeral Services is assisting the Jones family.
