Melvin Carlton Massey 91, of Salisbury was born to the late I.G. and Ada Harris Massey on February 26, 1934 in Rowan County transitioned on Wednesday October 15, 2025 at Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center.

He was a graduate of JC Price High School and later enlisted in the US Navy where he served proudly,  he was last employed by Apex, and a member of First Calvary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; I.G. and Ada Massey, siblings; LJ Massey, John Massey, Robert Massey, Bernice Melton and Marjane Saulters.

He is survived by his special niece/ daughter; Shemeka McGee, niece; Ada McGee, nephews; Leon Melton, Spencer Melton, great-nephews; Javon Phifer, Laquon McGee and a special cousin; Clara Stewart, a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service: Thursday October 23, at 3:00 p.m. at First Calvary Baptist Church  Interment: Friday October 24, at 10:00 a.m Salisbury National Cemetery. Family Visitation: 30 minutes prior to service. Public Viewing: 11:00-5:00 p.m.
