Obituary

Salisbury- Patricia "Chicc" Simpson Evans 72, of Salisbury went home to glory on Tuesday September 8, 2020 at Novant Health Medical Center was born to the late Richard and Frances Boler Simpson, Sr. on August 24, 1948 in Rowan County. She attended Dunbar High School and received her GED and nursing certificate from Rowan Cabarrus Community College. She retired from Salisbury Transit and as an active member of Shady Grove Baptist Church East Spencer where she served on the Kitchen Committee, Pastor Aide, Choir, Willing Workers and Missionary Committee. Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her parents, children; Charles Evan III, Cheri Bryant, siblings:. Calvin Simpson, Nathan Simpson, Warren Simpson, Carl Simpson, Christine McCollough and Cynthia Rawls. Mrs. Evans is survived by husband: Charles Evans Jr. of the home, sister Doris (James) Miller of Columbia, South Carolina, brother; Richard Simpson Jr. of Salisbury, foster son; ; Ernest (Stephanie) Huntley of Kannapolis) sister-in-law : Alice Simpson. 9 grandhildren and 15 great grandchildren, host of nieces and nephews, niece Sharon Leach raised in the home a host of other relatives and friends. Service: Private Funeral Services will be Friday Sept. 18, at 1:00 Shady Grove Baptist Church East Spencer. Burial Church Cemetery. Public viewing Thursday 3:00-6:00 p.m. Rowan Funeral Services is assisting the Evans family.
