Mr. Richard Graham, age 84, peacefully departed this life on January 14, 2026, at Carolina Caring Hospice House in Newton Nc. He was born on July 18, 1941, in Rowan County, North Carolina, and was the beloved son of the late Viola Graham and Booker T. Graham.

Richard graduated from Dunbar High School in East Spencer NC. After graduating high school, he proudly served his country by joining the United States Navy, where he served for six years before receiving an honorable discharge.

Following his military service, Richard relocated to Washington, D.C., where he was employed with Frito-Lay as a tractor-trailer driver. He later returned to North Carolina and gained employment at the NC  Finishing Company. Richard later relocated to Hickory, North Carolina, where he began a long and dedicated career with Century Furniture, serving as a supervisor over finished goods and quality control. He also worked as a halfway house counselor, helping others regain their lives and overcome addiction.

Richard was a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, and had a passion for repairing automobiles. He was well known for being mechanically inclined and always willing to lend a helping hand.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Lewis, and Booker T. Graham Jr., and his sister, Bernice Thompson.

Those left to cherish his precious memories include his two daughters, Ava Melissa Graham of Washington, D.C., and Jasmine Archer of Hickory, North Carolina; his two sons, Patrick Emanuel Graham; (Rhonkisha) of Jessup, Maryland; and Richard Archer of Winter Haven, Florida. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Ava Monet Graham, Jonava Graham, Patrick E. Graham Jr., Keon E. Graham, Hendrix Archer, and Zane Archer; two great-grandchildren, Zamar Graham and Patricia Graham Rivera.

He is further survived by four sisters, Julia Graham Ijames, Essie M. Ruffin, Anne Davis, Teresa Graham Burrell, all of Salisbury, North Carolina; five brothers, Samuel Graham and Wayne Graham of Salisbury, North Carolina, Ronald Graham of Gaffney South Carolina, Floyd Boulware and Charles Graham(Hattie)of Chester SC ; along with a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A very special thank you to his brother Ronald Graham for his unwavering support and dedication and devoted care to his brother during his time of need.

Funeral Services: Friday January 30, at 1:00 p.m. at Rowan Funeral Services Chapel, burial will follow at 2:30 p.m in Salisbury National Cemetery.  Family will receive friends 12:00-1:00p.m. Public viewing will be Thursday January 29, 11:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m.
