Richard Simpson, Jr. 81,of Salisbury made his earthly departure on Friday, August 6, 2021 at Novant Regional Medical Center and was born to the late Richard and Frances Boler Simpson on July 30, 1940 in Rowan County. He was last employed by Cone Mills and had attended Shady Grove Baptist Church East Spencer, NC prior to failing health. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings; Warren Simpson, Carl L. Simpson, Christine McCollough, Nathan A. Simpson, Cynthia Rawls, Calvin S. Simpson and Patricia Evans. He leaves memories to his sons; Richard E. Simpson, Richie Simpson, daughter; Tonya Simpson, sister; Doris S. Miller(James), eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 14, at 11:00 a.m. at Rowan Funeral Services Chapel; burial will follow in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Public viewing Friday 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. Rowan Funeral Services is assisting the Simpson family.
