Rory Lawrence Matthews Sr., 61, of Salisbury was born in Mississippi on Feb. 7, 1961, to the late Juanita Tyler Person, and the late Junior Person. H passed away on March 14, 2022. He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita T. Person; father, Junior Person; and brothers, Richard Matthews, and Wilmon Matthews. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Bates Matthews; sons, Rory Matthews Jr., Kendre' Bates, Joshua Woods; daughters, Whitley Bates, Ravyn Matthews; brothers, Avery Herring, Michael Persons; a host of other relatives and friends. Arrangements: Funeral Services will be Sunday, March 20, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Reverend Timothy Bates will be officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to service. Public Viewing Saturday 1 - 5 p.m. Rowan Funeral Services is assisting the Matthews/ Bates family.
