On Wednesday, January 6th, 2021 Terri Simmons, loving daughter and mother of 2, passed away at the age of 59. Terri was born on May 4th, 1961 in Chadbourne, North Carolina to Lillie M Ladson of Rockwell, North Carolina. She graduated from South Shore HS of Brooklyn, NY, and was a CNA for many years in Salisbury, NC. On Dec. 25 1991, she married Edward T. Simmons; they raised 2 children in Brooklyn, NY. Terri spent her youth playing basketball for her high school. She had a passion for spending time with her children, being around her immediate friends and family, and kicking butt in a game of Spades. She loved to laugh and her laugh was so contagious others couldn't help but join in. She also enjoyed shopping with her mother and reminiscing about her childhood in Chadbourne with her aunts, uncle and cousins. Terri was preceded in death by her eldest son Dion Smith and her grandmother; Bertha Smith, aunt Nora Smith, aunt Betty Shaw and stepfather; James Ladson. She is survived by her mother Lille Ladson, two children, Edward and Tiesha Simmons and bonus daughter Selenia Smith, aunt Corene Burch, and uncle Michael Smith, as well as a host of cousins and countless friends. A funeral service will be held on January 11th at Rowan Memorial Park at 2 p.m. Romans 14:8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
