Abdul Mutinh Omosheni Mabifa
June 29, 1994 ~ January 1, 2024 (age 29) 29 Years Old
Abdul Mutinh Omosheni Mabifa was born on Wednesday, June 29, 1994 at 6:07 PM, in Greensboro, NC. He passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024. Sheni or “Shane” (a nickname his friends used) will forever be remembered as a loving family member, and a wonderful friend. His best friend Gabe saw him as his very own brother. Growing up, Sheni was involved in many different activities- excelling in each one of them. He enjoyed Manga, anime, Tae Kwon Do, wrestling (he was the Lightweight Champion of his division at Glenn in 2011), “tricking”, drawing & designing, playing the viola and the guitar. He was passionate about numerous things- creating music, preserving the planet/ caring for the earth, and computer programming, with a focus on securing the internet for its users. Sheni had a calm and discrete nature, and was quite tender, nurturing, and dependable. His family and friends would also describe him as thoughtful, sensitive, a bit timid, and extremely caring. He had an exceptional memory, especially when it came to how people and situations made him feel. He questioned tradition and authority, yet avoided confrontation, as a means to maintain harmony and peace. He was intelligent, and extremely knowledgeable about a variety of topics, including environmentalism, politics, music, different cultures and technology. Sheni graduated from Robert B. Glenn high school in June 2012, and went on to serve in the US Army from 2018 to 2022. During this time, he maintained occupations, as a motor vehicle mechanic and armorer. He was also able to visit and experience the people and culture of South Korea. Ultimately, Sheni left the army, as he began a quest to live authentically, and do what he genuinely loved. He rejected conformity and superficiality, driving him to form a unique perception of the world. Sheni was a courageous and adventurous risk taker; unfrightened by the unknown. He loved to camp outdoors alone, with just a backpack and a sleeping bag, and he even train-hopped from Georgia to North Carolina. He was a charming, respectful gentleman, with a cute laugh, and a big heart. His memory will remain deep within our hearts forever. He is survived by his mother Lisa Keaton Roach (James), his father (Sikiru Mabifa), his elder sister (Zaenab Mabifa), his uncle (Charlie Keaton Jr.) and his grandmother (Claudette (Charlotte Keaton Sr.)). He also leaves behind two grandmothers, and several aunties, uncles, cousins, and old friends. Home going services for Sheni will be held on Tuesday January 16, at 3:00 p.m. Rowan Funeral Services Chapel , family will receive friends at 2p.m. burial will be Thursday January 18, at 10:00 am Salisbury National Cemetery.
Praises and Blessings of the Deceased
“Having come out of, and returning to the divine forms that pleaseth him,
being seen as a living soul- Behold, Sheni has come to his haven of rest.
That which has been done on earth by him is blessed and has come to pass.
He has shone like the rising and the setting Sun. He has reflected the Most High one.
He has come into existence with the blessing of the Great Mother.
He rose and ruled that which he made.
He has been crowned as a king, one shown of sunlight,
and the high place which was made for him, he sits.
His life made whole, the creator of his name he has been,
and the birther of his name is pleased.
Not driven back from the company of the gods is he.
In the peace of the Prince he sits, wars fought on his behalf are won,
