Audrey Denise (Turner) Sims

Charlotte, NC - Audrey Denise Turner Sims, age 59, passed away on May 23, 2023, at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center in Matthews, NC. She was a loving person and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Audrey was born on January 1, 1964, in Salisbury, NC, and was the loving daughter of the late Rev. Louis and Annie Turner.

She graduated from North Rowan High School and graduated from NC Central University. Audrey had a passion for writing poetry, singing, and was an avid football lover. She found great joy in spending time with her family and traveling to new places.

She was last employed as a Healthcare Customer Service Representative but had worked in the financial industry as well.

Audrey is survived by her daughter, Corlette Sims, and her grandson, Isaiah Sims, both of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by her brother, Louis Turner (Rene), of Bessemer City, NC; sister, Shelia Woods, of Phenix City, Alabama; brother, Steven Turner, of Salisbury, NC; and sister, Marcella Greene (Howard), of Charlotte, NC. She was a cherished sister and aunt to her extended family.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 pm, on June 1, 2023, at Rowan Funeral Service Inc, located at 1709 N Long St, Salisbury, NC 28144.

The family appreciates the love and support they have received during this difficult time. May Audrey Denise Turner Sims be forever remembered for her vibrant spirit, warm heart, and the joy she brought to those around her.
