James Edward "Buck" Blakeney, Jr.

 James Edward "Buck" Blakeney, Jr. departed his earthly home on Monday, August 28, 2023, at The Glenn Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury, North Carolina.
He was born to the late Lillie Mae Blakeney Feamster and James Edward Blakeney Sr. in Salisbury, North Carolina, on August 09, 1946.

He graduated from JC Price High School, in 1966. He worked for many years as an Owner Operator at Safety Taxi Transportation, Inc.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lillie Mae Blakeney Feamster and James Edward Blakeney Sr. brothers; William “Billy” Blakeney, Charles Blakeney, Michael Blakeney,
Everette Feamster, and sister, Patricia Mitchell.

Left to cherish his fond memories are; his wife, Rita Whitney Blakeney, son, James Blakeney, III (Celeste), three daughters; Crystal Blakeney (Victor), Josie Rippy, (Jesus),Paris Blakeney (Ricky), four stepsons; Franklin Bailey (Brenda), Michael Bailey, Goodmen Whitney (Nakia), and Antonio Alsbrooks stepdaughters; Chevon Baldwin – Bey (Tim) and Tammy Alsbrooks, brother, Johnny Blakeney (Marcella), two sisters; Ellen Blakeney,Betty Jackson (Butch), five sister – in laws: Gloria Blakeney, Ann Feamster, Betty Whitney, Frances Whitney, Hattie Armstrong Blakeney, fifteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 5pm until 7 pm, at Rowan Funeral Service, located at 1709 North Long Street, Salisbury, NC.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 12 pm until 12:45 pm, and the Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm.
Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 pm, at Thomas Street Church of Christ, 700 West Thomas Street, Salisbury, NC.
