Mae Ellen (Davis) Garrison

Mrs. Mae Ellen Garrison, 79, fondly known as “Sister” of Salisbury, NC, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 31, 2023, at her home. She was born in
Columbia, SC, on December 24, 1943, to the late John Wallace Davis, Sr. and Francenia Harmon Davis.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Garrison Jr.; son, Brian Keith Garrison, brothers Frank Davis, Wallace Davis, Paul Davis, and Nathaniel Davis, and a great-grandchild, Bryan Keith Garrison.
 
Mae Ellen lived a life full of purpose and dedication. She attended Dunbar High School and then worked as a seamstress. Later on, she became a domestic housekeeper until her retirement.
 
Mae Ellen was a devout believer who remained loyal to her faith throughout her life. She was an active member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church, contributing to several committees and ministries such as the Kitchen Committee, Senior Choir, Nursing Ministry, and True Light Missionary. During her leisure time, she enjoyed simple pleasures such as shopping, cooking, and watching soap operas. Mae Ellen's dedication to her community and interests is a source of inspiration for all of us.
 
She leaves to cherish her loving memories; her daughters, Denise Chambers (Greg) of Salisbury, NC; and Michelle Garrison of East Spencer, NC;grandchildren, Jacques, Jasmine, Le’Andre (Tamara) Jarod, Breania,Christopher, Trevon, Heather, Quianna; great-grandchildren, Jaylen, Nylah,Nyomi, Chrisley, and Aunyst; sisters, Patricia Cross (Kenneth), JacquelineWalker (Hullen); brother, Freddie Davis; sister-in-law, Linda Davis; a special niece, Valisha Morgan (Dennis); special nephew, Demond Davis that resided in the home; special friends, Dr. Joel and Joyce Goodwin, Cliff and Shelia Flowers and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services: Saturday August 12, 2:00 p.m. burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral services, other times at 964 Mathis Avenue. Public viewing  Friday 11:00- 5:00 p.m.
