Thomas Henry Lowe

Thomas Henry Lowe, a resident of Duncan, South Carolina passed away on August 23, 2023, at the age of 83. Thomas was born to the late Daniel and Muriel Morrow Lowe in Granite Quarry, North Carolina. A 1958 graduate of Dunbar School he attended Livingstone College and graduated from City College of the City University of New York. He worked for the New York State Department of Corrections before retiring in 1999.

His wife, Janie Mae Ferguson Lowe, and siblings Daniel Lowe, Lula Lewis, Willie Lowe, and Rochelle Lowe predeceased him.

He is survived by his three daughters, Victoria Lowe, Vanessa Lowe, and Vallicia Lowe, as well as his siblings, Robert Lowe, Greg Lowe (Mary), and Susan Lowe and Pamela Shuford (Charles, Sr.) Marilyn Lowe Harris, sister-in-law Janell Lowe, brother-in-law John Lewis, grandchildren Janae Lowe and Tiffany Lowe, great-grandchildren Daniel Lowe and Noah Lowe, bonus son James Fincher, nephews, nieces, a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at White Rock A.M. E. on Friday, September 1 at 1:00 p.m. The burial of Zion will take place in the church cemetery. Friday at 11 a.m., there will be a public viewing in the church. Prior to the services, the family will host a reception from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Rowan Funeral Services is assisting the Lowe family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to White Rock AME Zion Church 785 White Rock Rd.
