Walter Lee Jones, Sr

SALISBURY – Walter Lee Jones, Sr., 78, was born to the late Willie C. Jones and Alberta Robinson Jones on March 28, 1945 in Rowan County. He departed his earthly life on June 24, 2023 at Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center.

He attended J.C. Price High School, retired from W.G. Hefner Medical and worshipped at Moores Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Salisbury, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Walter L. Jones, Jr.; siblings, Eddie C. Jones, Darlene Imes, Mae Frances Jones and Edna Jones.

He leaves cherished memories to his wife, Betty Boyd Jones; sons, Morris (Rhonda) Jones, Rodney Jones, Christopher Gadson; brother, Michael Jones; sisters, Mildred Bost, Bernetta Hosch, Diane Jones; grandchildren, Chanel Jones, Jasmyne Jones, Markeith Jones, Bishop Jones, Zion Carlos, Joseph Carlos; great -grandchildren, Kaydence Brown, Kamani, Kamari, Kawhi and Kandace Wagnoner; brother-in-law, Willie Gadson; and brother-in-law and sister -in law, Vernel and Larry Gadson; nephews, nieces, a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services: Saturday July 1, at 1 p.m. Moores Chapel A.M. E. Zion burial will follow at City Memorial. Family will recieve friends 30 minutes prior to service. Public viewing Friday 11 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
