William “Rabbit” Michael Cuthbertson, 70, was born in Rowan County to the late William and Doris Harper Cuthbertson on Jan. 3, 1952, departed this Earthly Life on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House after an extended illness. Mr. Cuthbertson was a 1971 graduate of West Rowan High School, a lifelong member of Cedar Grove A.M.E. ZIon Church and sang with The Echoes for Christ. He retired from Lyon Shaw as a Welder Supervisor, taxi cab owner, basketball coach and was the hearse driver for Rowan Funeral Services for several years. He leaves cherished memories to his wife, Bettye Twitty Cuthbertson; daughter, Tina (Gerald) Phillips; stepdaughter, Tonya Burts; sons, Gary Roseborough, Steve Everhart, Michael Mott; brothers, Leroy (Fannie) Cuthbertson, Paul Cuthbertson, Ronnie (Rev. Donna) Cuthbertson, Tommy (Deedre) Cuthbertson, Cedric (Ashlee) Cuthbertson; sisters, Mary Dalton, Vanessa (Steve) Williamson, Wanda (Kenny) Brown,Thedoric Witherspoon; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Arrangements: Funeral services Saturday, Dec. 31, at 1 p.m. Cedar Grove A.M. E. Zion Church, burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Public visitation will be Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Rowan Funeral Service. Rowan Funeral Services is assisting the family.
