Xavier Marquis Haley

Xavier "Zay" Marquis Haley, born June 9, 2000 in Salisbury, North Carolina to Ms. Tracey Haley and Mr. Grover Garrison peacefully transitioned from this earthly journey on March 11, 2024 at 6:40 PM at Novant Health Rowan Regional Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.

Xavier affectionately known as “Zayley” or “Zay” was a cherished father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend whose presence touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, laughter and unwavering dedication to those he loved. If He rocked with you, “HE ROCKED” with you.

Zay graduated from North Rowan High School In 2018 where He was known for being an all-star football and basketball player. He represented on the field and on the court as a Cavalier. 

Throughout his life, Zay was known for his interests in fishing, dancing, traveling and spending time with his daughter. his enthusiasm was contagious, and he had a remarkable ability to bring joy to those around him. He had a quirkiness that made you laugh and a very positive outlook on life even when “Life Was Lifing” as He would say.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Mr. Grover Leon Williams, II; great-grandfather, Mr. Clement Radcliff, Sr.; great-grandmothers, Ms. Lois Haley and Ms. Carnell Garrison; and great-great grandmother, Ms. Mary Jones.

Left to cherish his memories are his mother and father, Tracey and Grover; daughter Raina Haley; sisters, Amorie (Titus) King, Satera Garrison, Saniyah Garrison, Gissel Garrison; brothers, Chance Ford, bonus brothers, Pastor Javon Parker, Jayden Jones, Ahmad Bates, Tyre Mason, Jamaria Crawford, Dwight White, Jim Herndon, and Bryson Deal; grandparents, Walter and Mary Haley, Veronica Garrison; aunt, Sandra Haley; uncle, Richard (Marnie) Carlos and a host of great aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. 

In honoring the life of Xavier we gather to celebrate his profound impact, unwavering love, and enduring spirit. Though he has bid farewell to this earthly place, his legacy of kindness, laughter and compassion will forever echo in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him.

Funeral Services at 12:00 p.m. Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church burial will follow in Rowan Memorial Park, the family will receive friends at 11:00 am prior to service. Public viewing Friday 11:00 - 5:00 p.m. .
