Debra Jefferies Gibson, 68, of Salisbury was born to the late John Jefferies and Geneva Lowery Jefferies on September 7, 1953 in Rowan County and passed away after an extended illness on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center. She was a 1971 graduate of West Rowan High School and attended Rowan-Cabarrus Community College to get her Certified Nursing Assistant certification. She was last employed at Superior Home Care, Inc. and a faithful member of Rose of Sharon, where she served as an usher, Sunday school teacher, member of the Kitchen Committee, and was a dynamic speaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons; Jay Imes, Jr, Edward D. Gibson, Jr, siblings; Jean Edwards, Geraldine Belton, Wendolyn Walker, Raymond Jefferies, Billy Joe Jefferies, John Daniel Jefferies, Jr, and Alan Jefferies. She is survived by her husband Edward Darnell Gibson, Jr, of the home, sons; Patrick Imes (Andrea), Jonathan Gibson (Melissa), grandchildren: Shenita Torrence Neal, Kelly Imes, Patrick Imes, Jr, Joneisha Gibson, Jerico Gibson, great-grandchildren; Tamya Torrence, Aubrey Torrence, Taliah Torrence, brother; Fredrick Jefferies (Shelia), sisters; Katherine Rhodes, Gloria Rankin (Johnny), Sandra Jefferies, nieces, nephews a host of other relatives, and friends. Funeral services Friday, September 24, 1:00 P.M. at Rose of Sharon, burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00-1:00 P.M. Public viewing will be Thursday 10:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Rowan Funeral Services is assisting the Gibson family.
