Lester Chapman

Lester Chapman was born on May 4, 1943, in New York, New York. He departed his earthly life on March 1, 2021 in his home in Salisbury, North Carolina. He was the oldest of three sons, born to Richard Lester and Bertha Smith Chapman. Lester was a proud Marine. He joined the U.S. Marine Corp in 1968 and served his country during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged in 1970, he went on to serve in the Marine Corps Reserve until 1974. Lester was employed as a Certified Nurse's Assistant with the Veterans Administration hospitals in Brooklyn, New York and Salisbury, N.C, where he would later retire in 1988. Lester is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Chapman, brother Dennis Chapman, stepson Taye Badger, and step granddaughter Cieara Badger. Lester is survived by his daughter Denise Evelyn Chapman, granddaughters Danica and Damaris Chapman; brother Michael Robert (Cecilia) Chapman; sister-in-law Gloria (Dennis) Chapman; stepdaughters Erika Badger, Jenine Badger, and Ayesha Badger and their children Ebony Livingston, Rahlovel Livingston, Lanae Badger, A'nalah Badger, Rashad Badger, Tyree Badger, and Omari Badger; brother in law Arthur Lambert; sister in law Eunice Noel; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral Services and Military Rites will be Tuesday, March 16, at 11:00 a.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery. Public viewing Monday, March 15 , at Rowan Funeral Services 10:00 - 5:00 P.M. Rowan Funeral Services is assisting the Chapman family.
